Gamera is a fictional monster that appears in the special effects film "Dai Kaiju Gamera" released by Daiei (now KADOKAWA) in 1965. Since "Gamera the Great", sequels and films featuring Gamera have been continuously produced, and all these films are collectively called the Gamera series. Along with Toho's Godzilla series, the Gamera series is one of the most famous monster movies in Japan.
